For UK guided tour operators

Your website and your reservation system,
finally in step.

I connect tour operator websites to the reservation system that runs your trips. Availability stays right, double bookings stop, and nobody retypes a departure into two places ever again.

Fixed prices, agreed before any work starts. Never billed by the hour.

The admin that grows with every departure

Happy guests who never leave a review

They loved the trip and meant to write something. Then they got home, life took over, and your review count barely moved all season.

The same questions, every single week

Kit lists, meeting points, what's included, what to bring. Your team answers them one email at a time, for every guest, on every departure.

Paperwork chased by hand

Forms, waivers and dietary needs trickle in by email. Someone has to spot the gaps and chase the stragglers before the trip goes ahead.

Tracks & Trails: a faster site, plugged straight into their booking system

Tracks and Trails homepage with an adventure holiday search bar over an Alpine meadow
  • 90–100tours live at any time
  • RezKitreservations and tour management
  • Facetedtour search across the whole range

Tracks & Trails runs guided adventure holidays in the Alps and across Europe and Scandinavia: hiking, trail running, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. I'd built their previous site, so I already knew exactly where the pain was.

The problem

The old site ran on Joomla 3, which had reached the end of its life, with a custom booking component that couldn't be trusted. The team had to override availability and capacity by hand to work around it, which took hours every month. Even then, double bookings still slipped through.

What I built

A new, faster site, and a move to RezKit for reservations and tour management. The website plugs into RezKit, so tours, availability and bookings live in one system. Because the two are separate, the site can be upgraded in future without touching a single booking. Guests find the right trip with filters across the full range.

The result

  • More accurate availability, straight from the booking system
  • Fewer booking errors
  • A faster site the team can manage themselves
  • A clean foundation for further automation

A review engine that turns finished trips into more 5-star reviews

Most happy guests never get round to leaving a review. This asks them at the one moment they're most likely to, right after the trip, in a single tap, so far more of them actually do.

Built once, connected to your reservation system, then left to run. See what's involved

Every request tracked end to end, so review velocity is a number you watch — not a hope.

Two ways to start

Review Engine

Fixed build price + a flat monthly fee

Connected to your booking system, it asks every guest for a review the moment their trip ends. No chasing, and no one on your team has to remember.

  • Review requests sent automatically after each departure
  • One-tap review page, branded as your business
  • A monthly report of reviews requested and received

How it works

1

Free 25-minute call

You tell me how a booking moves through your business. I'll tell you straight whether I can help.

2

Operations Audit

I find where the hours go and give you a clear, prioritised plan with a fixed price for each fix.

3

Build

I build it, connect it to your booking system and test it on the phones your guests actually use.

What an Operations Audit looks like

A short, plain-English report. It shows where your hours go, what to fix first and what each fix costs. Here's a condensed sample for a guided tour operator.

Operations Audit · Summary
Guided adventure operator, around 90 tours
Illustrative sample

1. Where the hours go

Overriding availability and capacity by hand Weekly6 hrs / month
Untangling double bookings A few per season3 hrs each, plus refund risk
Sending pre-trip info packs one by one Every booking4 hrs / month
Chasing guest forms and dietary needs Every departure3 hrs / month
Asking for reviews after trips When someone remembersReviews missed
Total16+ hrs / month

2. What to fix first

  1. One source of truth for availability. Let the booking system own capacity and have the website read from it. This removes the manual overrides and the double-booking risk.
  2. Follow up abandoned bookings. Guests who start a booking and stop get a short, friendly email sequence. Some of them are one reminder away from paying a deposit.
  3. Automatic review requests. Every guest is asked for a review the day their trip ends, without anyone having to remember.

3. Quick wins you can do yourself

  • Save reply templates for your five most common guest questions
  • Link a "what to pack" page from every booking confirmation
  • Add your review link to the final pre-trip email

Every recommended fix comes with a fixed price, quoted before any work starts. The audit fee is credited against whichever you choose to build.

Hi, I'm Nic. I'm a software engineering manager who has spent ten years building for travel, including leading engineering at a bike rental booking platform.

I work only with tour operators. You won't have to explain seasonality, deposits, or why your inbox doubles every spring. I already know how your guests book and where the admin piles up.

I keep the work small and fixed-price. You'll know the cost and the scope before anything starts, and every fix is measured against where your hours were going before, so you can see what changed.

What clients say

"

Following an initial meeting with Nic I immediately knew he was the right person for my Travel Business start-up. I'd met with other companies, but Nic stood out as the firm favourite. He had experience, knowledge, ongoing recommendations and advice but importantly was as excited for my project as much I was.

I have personally worked with Nic for over 6 years. His work is of quality and he is very reliable. Nic has become like family and is a pillar to our business.

Questions operators ask

Will this work with my booking system?

Most likely. I connect to the booking system you already run, so there's nothing to replace and nothing new for your team to learn. The audit confirms it before you spend anything on a build.

What if I don't use a booking system yet?

That's fine. I work with a partner whose affordable reservation platform can import your existing bookings, so we can get you set up first.

Do you charge by the hour?

No. Every piece of work has a fixed price and a fixed scope, agreed in writing before it starts. You'll never get a surprise invoice.

Why pay for an audit?

Because it's real work, and you keep the result. You get a written plan you can act on with or without me, and the fee comes off any build that follows.

Who is this for?

UK guided tour operators running regular multi-day departures, usually founder-led or family-run. If a few people handle every booking and every guest question, this is built for you.

What happens on the free call?

It takes 25 minutes. You walk me through how a booking moves through your business, I ask questions, and I tell you honestly whether I can help. There's no pitch deck and no obligation.
